Neither the fountain nor the Hacı Cuma Mosque carries a construction inscription. The mosque's endowment records, however, indicate that it was built in AH 1040 / AD 1630 by Karayazıcızâde Abdullah ibn Seyyid Ahmed. On that evidence the fountain's original construction is thought to reach back to the 17th century.
