Cennet Fountain

Its construction date is not known with certainty; it is among the oldest fountains of Erzurum. Mentioned by both local and foreign travellers, it was described by Evliya Çelebi: “For three months the air is so fine that a man finds eternal life. Its water is the water of life. It is most beneficial for horses and for women. Whoever drinks in July from the spring called Cennet understands the verse ‘And We made from water every living thing’.”
